Five of the most practical printer maintenance skills
now printers have become computer products that are often used in people's work and life. Because they are frequently used products, people often encounter some problems of one kind or another. Now I will introduce some simple maintenance methods to you
first, the printing effect is different from the preview.
generally, this situation occurs under the texter, such as word or WPS2000. When previewing, it is clear that the format is neat, but when printing, it is found that some fonts overlap. This kind of situation is generally caused by improper settings at the time. The solution is to change the paper size, paper type, and the number of words per line in the "page properties" of the file, which can generally be solved
second, the printing handwriting is not clear
this problem is very common in the normal use of printers. Generally speaking, this situation is mainly related to hardware failures. When encountering this kind of problem, it is better to master the problem in the actual use. Generally, we should pay attention to some key parts of the printer. Here we take the inkjet printer as an example. When the color of the printed matter is fuzzy and the font is not clear, the fault can be locked in the nozzle. First, the machine will automatically clean the print head. If it is not successful, you can wipe the place close to the print head with soft absorbent paper; If the above method still cannot be solved, the only way is to reinstall the printer driver
III. unable to print large files
this situation occurs more in laser printers. It may be normal when printing small files, but it will crash when printing large files. This problem is mainly a software failure. You can check the remaining space on the hard disk, delete some useless files, or query the amount of printer memory to see if it can be expanded
IV. the printer does not respond after selecting printing
general person in charge: we will further implement the quality supervision and detection function. In this case, the system will usually prompt "please check whether the printer is online and whether the cable connection is normal". The general reason may be that the printer power cord is not plugged in properly; The print cable is not connected correctly; poor contact; The parallel port of the computer is damaged. There are mainly the following solutions:
1 If it cannot be started normally (i.e. the power light is not on), first check whether the power line of the printer is connected correctly, re plug the power line in the shutdown state, and try to change a power socket to see if it can be solved
2. If the printer can start normally after pressing the print power switch, go to the BIOS settings to see the parallel port settings. General printers use ECP mode, and some printers do not support ECP mode. At this time, ecp+epp or "normal" mode can be used
3. If the above two methods are invalid, these are two different changes. It is necessary to focus on checking the print cable. First turn off the computer, unplug the two ends of the print cable and plug it again. Be careful not to plug it with electricity. If the problem cannot be solved, try another printing cable, or use the substitution method
v. incomplete printing
if you encounter such a problem, you can speed up the production, study and research based on the fact that it is definitely caused by software failure. You can change the print interface setting in windows95/98, and select "start → settings → control panel → system → device management → port → printer port → driver → change driver → display all devices", Change "ECP print port" to "printer port" and confirm
the methods I mentioned above all use common faults on printers. In fact, the most important way to solve printer faults is to judge. As long as we can find the cause of the fault, we can repair it through hardware or software methods. Of course, people will encounter other faults when actually using the printer, so you need to master more printer maintenance skills
